Ingredients

  • 24 square wonton wrappers thawed completely if frozen
  • 5 oz cream cheese at room temperature
  • 3 tbsp confectioners' sugar
  • 0.75 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 6 tbsp blueberry jam or fresh blueberry compote
  • 1 egg beaten, for sealing
  • 1 neutral oil spray for brushing
  • 1 powdered sugar optional, for finishing

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Electric mixer
  • Small bowls
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Beat room temperature cream cheese with confectioners' sugar and vanilla until completely lump-free and fluffy, about 3 minutes with electric mixer.
  2. Set up assembly station with beaten egg in small bowl, cream cheese mixture, blueberry jam, and clean kitchen towel.
  3. Place one wrapper diamond-style on work surface. Spoon 1 heaping teaspoon cream cheese mixture into center, then top with 3/4 teaspoon jam.
  4. Brush wrapper edges thoroughly with beaten egg. Fold bottom corner up to meet top corner, creating triangle. Press edges firmly, squeezing out air bubbles.
  5. For extra security, fold two side corners toward each other and pinch to seal, creating tortellini shape. Cover completed wontons with damp towel.
  6. Lightly spray wontons on both sides with oil. Place in air fryer basket in single layer without touching. Air fry at 375°F for 6-8 minutes until deep golden and crispy.

Notes

Room temperature cream cheese is crucial for smooth mixing. Don't overfill to prevent bursting. Store leftovers up to 4 days refrigerated. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes. Can freeze assembled wontons for up to 3 months - cook directly from frozen adding 2-3 extra minutes.
